Limitations
I’ve never really liked anything that tells me “no.” Coming to terms with my natural limitations - like not being able to sustainably achieve the work of three people - hasn’t been easy for me. The trail of carnage left by my unfinished projects demanded I find a solution.
Instead of looking for that mythological solution allowing me to be three people at once, it’s time to acknowledge the fact that every time we choose something, we’re saying “no” to something else. That’s good, because then we discover ourselves as we constantly correct our priorities. This is what gives value to our choices.
As I previously admitted, not every topic made it into my book, mainly because learning never stops. This is the long way of saying, I haven’t been keeping up with these posts, among other things, and my only excuse is that I was trying to work full time, go to school full time, and run the house full time. Hustle culture is a poisonous idea, even if you’re not in a hustle industry per se. Learn from me and don’t be a hero doing too many things at once.
Next year I’ll be doing things differently, and hopefully that’ll mean more posts for you guys. I’ll be reducing to school part time, work part time, and escalating the work on my next book. Recent events have only strengthened my resolve that a book about the dark side needs to come out. There’s a conversation that needs to happen.
I hope you’re all getting the most out of the audiobook Claw Your Way Out as well. There will be no audiobook released with my next book.
